Semantic Trajectory
Five scriptures in 3D semantic space. Each verse is embedded in the accumulated context of everything that preceded it within its book or surah — the text treated as an intelligence evolving in time.
READING THE MAP
The cloud — every verse in the corpus as a tiny colored dot. Color = thematic mode. This is the full semantic landscape. Verses that mean similar things cluster together.
Colored spheres — individual verse markers on the trajectory path. Size = how typical this verse is of its mode (bigger = closer to the basin centre). Color = thematic mode.
Wireframe spheres (gold) — new ground. Verses that don't belong to any established thematic basin. Semantically unprecedented territory.
Large translucent spheres — mode centroids. The centre of each thematic basin. Size = how many verses occupy that mode.
Grey lines — the trajectory path connecting consecutive verses. This is the sequential reading order.
Orange lines — jump ruptures. The cosine distance between consecutive verses exceeds the threshold — a sudden semantic leap.
Gaps (no line) — modal ruptures. The trajectory breaks so completely that the line is omitted. A qualitative shift in semantic territory.
Blue dashed arcs — ʿawda (return). Curved lines connecting a verse to the point it returns to. The text has left a thematic basin, wandered through others, and come back. The arc shows where the text echoes itself.
White ring — the currently selected verse position.
